Classic French elegance meets modern design at the Hotel Keppler in Paris
Updated: Sep 17, 2019
A tour in a hidden gem of Paris, Hotel Keppler, new Valpas Hotels member.
The classically-styled facade of the Hotel Keppler stands imposingly along the Rue Kepler in Paris, its black banner stretched tight and displaying the name “Keppler” in giant white letters. In fact, the name can be seen in every street-facing window on a black banner in white lettering. This is because the colors black and white are a theme at this upscale, French hotel -- colors known to represent elegance, style, and class. When you enter Hotel Keppler, its negative colors and sleek design make you feel as if you’re wearing a tailored tuxedo. This is a rare feeling to experience when entering a hotel, and one that should be prized.
Just a short walk away from the famous Champs Elysees in the chic 16th arrondissement, when you stay at the Hotel Keppler, you find yourself in the center of the fashion, business, and entertainment district of Paris. Whether you’d like to spend the day shopping, exploring historical avenues, or simply relaxing in the comfort of your suite, the location of the Hotel Keppler gives its guests the freedom to choose between a number of pleasurable options.
The hotel was designed by renowned interior designer Pierre Yves Rochon, who took the already spectacular 19th-century building and turned into a beautifully modern monument with traditional roots.
As a testament to the reputation of this renowned Parisian hotel, Hotel Keppler’s management decided to partner with Valpas Hotels to prove to past and future guests just how clean, beautiful, and safe Hotel Keppler is. Bed bugs have never been (and never will be) an issue at this hotel, and the same cleanliness applies to all areas of this business, including the kitchen, café, restrooms, lounge spaces, and more.
Valpas Hotels recently sat down with Rita Nouvel, the General Manager of the Keppler Hotel, to talk about the hotel’s legacy and future. When asked about what makes the Hotel Keppler such a special place for guests visiting from around the world, Nouvel pointed to its unbeatable location.
“We're a hidden gem of Paris, located right in the centre of the city yet on a quiet street,” she said. “Champs Elysées is a stone's throw away, which brings many models to our hotel. They know when they stay with us, they will get excellent service and enjoy a peaceful stay without distractions. It's not always like that in big hotels.”
With most hotels, you never quite know what you are going to get. Under Nouvel’s supervision, however, Hotel Keppler maintains its exalted reputation by ensuring each of its guests receives an unforgettable experience. Part of this experience has to do with the elegant environment and ambiance that has been created by designer Pierre Yves Rochon.
“When we started this hotel,” Nouvel told us, “we had only one wish concerning the interiors: we wanted them to be black and white. We wanted Pierre Yves Rochon to design the hotel, but this was easier said than done. He normally focuses only on big hotel chains. Thanks to my persistent husband, he made an exception."
And thanks to Nouvel and her persistent husband, the owner of Hotel Keppler, the hotel has now become one of the most popular in the city. Now that the hotel has partnered with Valpas Hotels to ensure its continued standard of cleanliness, its reputation has improved.
“Great reputation is really important for us,” Nouvel explained. “We want to always keep it spotless. The world is changing around us, and it is very important to prepare yourself, and not when it is already too late. We want our clients to sleep here with peace of mind, and without any worries about bed bugs."
Since partnering with Valpas Hotels, Hotel Keppler has been verified as clear of any and all pollutants and insects. This is something that cannot be said for other hotels around the world, especially in Paris: a main tourist destination with thousands of people coming and going every day.
The next time you’re in Paris, stop by the elegant and modern Hotel Keppler and take a look inside. Have a drink and take in the unique atmosphere. And if you’re planning a trip to Paris, consider the Hotel Keppler as your inner-city destination. After a long day (or days) of travel, what better place to go than a black and white-themed hotel that makes you feel like a thousand bucks.
