Hotel Da Vinci
Located at number 25 Rue des Saints-Pères in Paris, France, the Hotel Da Vinci has quite a legitimate claim to fame: in August 1911, Leonardo da Vinci’s most celebrated painting, the Mona Lisa (La Gioconda), was kept in one of the hotel’s rooms after being stolen from the Louvre.
Today, guests can book this room (coined the “Adorateur”) for a stay. Like the rest of the rooms at this upscale, over-the-top, and glamorous hotel, the Mona Lisa Room captures the essence of the Renaissance period with eye-catching light fixtures, fresco-like wallpaper, and deep, moody colors. The Mona Lisa Room, in particular, is adorned with ornate ceiling tiles, a wide mattress set on a bed frame upholstered in red velvet, and comes with its very own private balcony.
